New Amish Made Cupboards in the Shoppe!

Local customers, just take a look at the new Amish made cupboards I brought back!

The first one is made out of that great silver/grey barnwood that we all love! The doors are solid barnwood as well, and is in a jelly cupboard style. What a great way to store and display items!

The second is made from barnwood as well with great white chipped paint. The door is a tall and narrow old window with 12 panes of glass. One side is white paint, and when you close the door, the outside of the door is in a dark stain....a great contrast!

I also have a new antique that I know you will enjoy....this old washstand cupboard would be great in your bedroom, bathroom or even a foyer! Many uses, this piece will be enjoyed for even more generations to come!

Finally, here's a big ol' scarecrow for you to enjoy hanging from the side of your barn, house or propped up next to your front door to greet trick or treaters! He's big, and made in Lancaster County!

Hope to see you soon.....we're open Wednesday through Saturday, 10-5! Call 965-0985 if you need directions or visit my website at www.finecountrylivingprimitives.com to see what else we have waiting for you!

"Friendly Potlucks" North Branch Friends Cookbook

Our local Quaker Meeting that we attend in Forty Fort is trying to raise funds to build our very own Meeting House! The Meeting compiled a great cookbook of Friends' recipes that are their favorites for the occasional potluck that follows Meetings. By teaming up with the Sterling Meeting, the North Branch Friends has really put together a great cookbook that is perfect for gift giving!

The cookbook is about 155 pages long and has something for everyone....chapters on Appetisers, soups, breads, main dishes, vegetables, side dishes, desserts and more! There's even a little write up in the front that tells you a bit about our Meeting, so you get to know us a bit better too!

Guess what, it's only $10!!!!! And you can get one from my website! Just visit my website www.finecountrylivingprimitives.com (it's under the This and That category) or stop in the shoppe to pick one up in person. Thank you for your support!

Many Blessings,
Mary Jo

Change in Hours here at the shoppe....

We will be closed next Sunday, August 24, and will begin our new hours of operation here at our retail shoppe. We will now be open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 10-5. We will be closed Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, but will open by chance or appointment on those days.

Since our oldest will be starting Kindergarten in less than two weeks, we realized that we need some family time during the weekend since he will be in school all week :-( Sundays and Mondays were always slow for us, but we had many requests for appointments and people stopping in by chance during the week, so this was a good time to make the change.

As many of my regular customers know, family is very important to us, and we appreciate your understanding. As always, feel free to call ahead on the days we are closed, and we will be happy to open just for you if we are able!

Many blessings,
Mary Jo and Russ

Fall is in the air............

The weather forecast for Northeastern Pennsylvania this weekend fits in perfectly with our NEW Autumn products! A bit on the chilly side? Get in the spirit of Fall by stopping by and seeing what we just brought in for you.

Handcrafted Pumpkins and Crows, my very own, are already popular in August! I have a great pair of pilgrim shelf sitters and a scary witch make-do..........all handmade by me! Don't forget about my candy corns....made from muslin, I've painted them and grunged them just for you! Perfect for bowl fillers or placing on shelves, and there will be more to come including some much larger versions!

We have great rusty pumpkins, in fact, we have pumpkins of ALL kinds! Lots of bittersweet garland, many Fall florals, and cute little collectables for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

My favorite (aside from my own handmades, of course) are the great handcrafted garlands made with dried apple and orange slices and mixed in with seed covered balls and beautiful leaves. Perfectly primitive for hanging from cupboards or across the tops of your curtains!

Also new, some great primitive cupboards made from old barnwood. Amish made, these "new" antiques will be sure to last for generations to come.

We also have some incredible outdoor Autumn decor such as our HUGE wooden scarecrow, a metal scarecrow, and a standing wooden pumpkin cutout, grapevine garlands, and much more.......prim up your porch this year with our goodies!

So this slightly chilly, Fall-like weather, just may be great timing by Mother Nature....stop in and see for yourself!

Many Blessings,
Mary Jo
